Our Duotrol^® quality controls

Quality controls should be independent according to ISO 15189 and IVDR to ensure the best possible quality of treatment for the patient. We offer the following independent and reliable quality controls for clinical chemistry:

CSF Controls

The BIOMED Liquor Controls Duotrol^® CSF Liquor and Duotrol^® CSQ Liquor based on human origin are liquid and ready for use.

Duotrol^® CSF Liquor is present in the clinically required ranges normal and abnormal and allows the monitoring of quantitative laboratory medical tests for liquor specific analytes such as lactate and glucose. For Duotrol^® CSQ Liquor, a third, medium target value range is available in conformity with RiliBäk.

Protein controls

The ready-to-use, liquid Duotrol^® CRM are serum-based protein diagnostic controls and contain measured values in the normal, medium and pathological range for over 20 analytes from the field of immunology. These accuracy sera are stable, easy to use and are particularly well suited for use in the area of broad routine.

Urine controls

The Duotrol^® Urine Controls are used for quality assurance of quantitative, qualitative or semi-quantitative laboratory tests in urine diagnostics. You can choose between Duotrol® Urin Liquid for the control of quantitative laboratory medical examinations and Duotrol^® Urin Dipstick for monitoring semi-quantitative rapid test methods in urine diagnostics.

Universal controls

Electrophoresis controls

The Duotrol^® Elpho capillary quality control is available in two measuring ranges. It enables the correctness control of capillary gel electrophoresis.

CRP controls (C-reactive protein)

The correctness controls for the C-reactive protein, Duotrol^® CRP, are stable liquid controls on a human serum basis and are used to monitor the analytical conditions for CRP determination. For a more specific and precise assessment of the individual CRP concentration, the control sera are available for seven different measurement ranges.

Quality control: Precise, independent and universally applicable

The ready-to-use, liquid or lyophilized Duotrol^® quality control sera are available in different clinically relevant concentrations and package sizes. BIOMED multi-analyte quality controls cover a range of integrated analyser systems and methods.

According to the DIN standard ISO 15189, a suitable quality control is characterized by a reaction in the test system that is as similar as possible to that of the patient samples. BIOMED Duotrol^® quality controls meet this requirement perfectly, as they are manufactured on the basis of human matrix. If possible, the concentrations of the control materials should also be in the range of clinical decision values. BIOMED control sera are available in two or even three concentration ranges covering the physiological and pathological range of the patient samples. In addition, the control material is tested and monitored at regular, short intervals with regard to its stability and target values by means of target value re-determinations in order to minimize the risk of damage to a patient due to incorrect results caused by product aging. BIOMED’s quality controls are regularly used in ring trials (interlab proficiency tests) conducted by the Reference Institute for Bioanalytics (RfB) and Instand e. V.
